SUSPENSION OF MASSES

The Catholic Bishops of Peninsular Malaysia has issued a circular suspending all masses and public gatherings in church from 14th March to 29th March 2020. Click here to read the official circular from the Catholic Bishops of Peninsular Malaysia.


UPDATE ON FR ROBIN ANDREWS

Fr Robin is convalescing at the Little Sisters of the Poor home in Penang. Let us all continue to pray for Fr Robin's recovery and that he gets well enough to return home to us here in SMC.

Those interested in outreach activities may check out our Sahabat Orang Asli ministry, Soup Kitchen and Ministry to the Poor among others.

Newcomers may be interested to know that we are the only church in Ipoh with a first-class relic of St Pio of Petrelcina fondly known as Padre Pio. RECYCLING PROJECT IN SMC

Parishioners may bring unwanted paper or boxes, plastics, old clothes and electrical items for recycling at SMC by the 3rd week of this month. Kindly ensure the clothes to be recycled are packed in plastic to prevent them from getting wet. Recyclable items must be sorted according to the categories and placed at the space provided opposite the Oak (next to the new columbarium). Please do not throw glass and wooden items.

All Catholics are encouraged to log on to the Catholic website "Formed.org". The Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur and Diocese of Penang have paid the yearly subscription for our use. This site is a rich resource for all Catholics and church leaders wishing to increase their knowledge about God, the bible and the Catholic faith. It also contains many useful tools like books, documentaries, videos and articles for ministry leaders, Sunday school teaching etc.

VATICAN INSTRUCTIONS ON BURIAL AND CONSERVATION OF ASHES

The Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith issued a new instruction on the burial of the dead and on the conservation of the ashes in cases of cremation, on 25th October 2016. Click here to read in detail about these instructions.

The SMC Religious Articles Centre has a wide selection of religious gifts including bibles, crucifixes,rosaries, religious books, medals, statues and loads more items suitable for baptism gifts, Christmas and other seasons.
